FREE Tasers Tips -Look Who Is Using Them

Tasers are generally considered to be the premier nonlethal self-defense product in the world. At last count they were used by the vast majority of law enforcement agencies in the United States and in at least seven foreign countries. After verbal commands, pepper sprays and batons a taser provides the next level of force for law enforcement officers. Only if that fails is there deadly force in disobeying a lawful command.

Police officers are faced with life or death situations literally every day on their job. Their decision on how to proceed on an individual case has to be made in a split-second with the scrutiny of the world on their shoulders. That is where training comes in.

Law enforcement officers undergo hours of training to prepare them for one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Then they undergo further training for the use of the taser, part of which is being subjected to the taser, so they know what it feels like and how effective it is.

Training only goes so far. Law enforcement officers and other users even in the civilian community need to know that they are the most effective nonlethal means of self defense there is.

In prisons throughout the country corrections officers have mostly been unarmed. Recently two officers were assaulted with one seriously injured. Shortly thereafter the decision was made to start using tasers.

Military police officers in Germany are now starting to use tasers. Anyone who knows how enlisted personnel love to blow off steam off duty knows they can get a little rowdy and sometimes a pepper spray is just not enough. So now MPs in Germany have that additional nonlethal capability.

And believe it or not in the English Premier league soccer referees are now armed with tasers "to deal with unruly players, managers and fans." They were going to arm them with Walther PPK handguns "but apparently that's not allowed so they went to the second choice of tasers instead."

I think our friends across the pond take their football a little bit too seriously if they have to arm the referees with tasers instead of handguns

For law enforcement officers "carrying a taser gun while on the job increases safety for the officers and it makes people think twice about putting up a fight. It's just another tool for the officers to use. It helps to rectify the situation without having to use physical force or deadly force."
